Adult Day Health Care Program Home and Community Based Settings Rule 2019 Self–Assessment
Dear Adult Day Health Care Program Administrator:
The New York State Department of Health (Department) previously informed Adult Day Healthcare Program (ADHCP) providers that it would provide a self–assessment tool to measure compliance with the Home and Community Based Settings (HCBS) Final Rule. The Department is required to ensure that providers of ADHCP services fully comply with the Final Rule by March 17, 2022. Information on the Federal HCBS Rule is available here.
The ADHCP HCBS Self–Assessment was developed by the Department to evaluate compliance with the HCBS Final Rule and is accessible via "Survey Monkey." It is anticipated that at the time of submission, many ADHCP providers may not be fully compliant with the requirements of the HCBS Rule. Rather, the Self–Assessment is intended to provide a snapshot of your current level of compliance. Results of the assessment will guide the Department in developing education, training programs and guidance documents to facilitate full compliance. The Self–Assessment must be completed by every ADHCP provider no later than June 30, 2019. The survey can be accessed using the following link.
The Department is committed to working with ADHCP providers to ensure compliance with the HCBS Final Rule. If you have any questions regarding the Final Rule or completion of the self–assessment tool, please e–mail questions to ADHCP.HCBS@health.ny.gov.
Sincerely,
Sheila McGarvey, Director
