The Funeral Directing Advisory Board
The Funeral Directing Advisory Board was established by Public Health Law § 3402 and consists of ten volunteer members of whom six are licensed funeral directors, three consumers, and one cemeterian.
The Board considers matters relating to the practice of funeral directing including the establishment of laws, promulgation of rules and regulations not inconsistent with law, investigations into improper practices of licensees, and formal disciplinary hearings, and may make recommendations to the Commissioner of Health regarding these matters.
The advisory board has no executive, administrative or appointive powers or duties.
