New York State Vaccines for Adults Program
The New York State Vaccines for Adults (VFA) Program provides vaccines at no cost to eligible adults. The vaccines are distributed to health care facilities that are enrolled as VFA providers.
Who is eligible to receive VFA vaccine?
- Uninsured adults aged 19 years and older;
- Underinsured adults aged 19 years and older (i.e., health insurance does not cover the costs of the vaccine to be administered);
- Students of any age that are enrolled in or entering a post-secondary institution in New York State
- Fully insured post-secondary students are only eligible to receive measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine through the VFA program.

- Hepatitis A/B vaccine (Twinrix®)
- Hepatitis B vaccine
- Human papillomavirus vaccine
- Inactivated poliovirus vaccine
- Influenza vaccine (during influenza season)
- Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) vaccine
- Meningococcal conjugate Groups ACWY vaccine
- Meningococcal conjugate Groups ACWY/B vaccine (PenbrayaTM)
- Meningococcal Group B vaccine
- Mpox vaccine
- Pneumococcal conjugate (PCV15) vaccine
- Pneumococcal conjugate (PCV20) vaccine
- Pneumococcal polysaccharide (PPSV23) vaccine
- Recombinant zoster vaccine
- Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine
- Tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccine
- Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids vaccine
- Varicella vaccine

Many health care facilities participate in the VFA. Typical participating facilities include:
- Local Health Departments
- Federally Qualified Health Centers
- Community Health Centers
- Rural Health Centers
- Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) clinics
- New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) Addiction Treatment Centers
- Methadone Treatment Centers
- Correctional Facilities
