Dear Administrator:
This letter provides you with information about updates to your free-standing and hospital-based nursing facility Medicaid fee for service rates for the period beginning April 1, 2024. The revised rates are posted on the Health Commerce System (HCS) application (Healthcare Financial Data Gateway)under the heading of April 2024 10% Capital Reduction Rates. These rates contain the following updates:
10% Capital Reduction
- The Nursing Home and Specialty Unit facility rates are being reduced to reflect the 10% capital rate reduction as included in the FY 2025 Enacted Budget.
- The 5% and additional 10% Across-the-Board reductions implemented with the State Fiscal Year 2021 and 2024 Enacted Budgets are now incorporated into the capital schedule at the bottom labeled “Total (95%) and Total (Additional 10% Reduction).”
- Please note that pediatric specialty rates are exempt from this reduction.
- An additional package will be forthcoming for the Adult Day Health Care component of the 10% capital reduction.
The processing of the 10% capital reduction rates will take effect in cycle #2471 with a check release date of 1/15/2025. Should you have any questions, please email NFRATES@health.ny.gov and someone will respond to your inquiry.
